Club Rules

• Eligibility: All individuals asking for membership that are not voted down and pay dues. Members may bring a guest to a monthly tournament one (1) time without that guest paying membership fees. If anyone wishes to fish a second time, they must pay their yearly dues to do so. Anyone fishing under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All boaters fishing a club tournament just have liability insurance equal to $100,000.00 or greater. Members may be voted out of the Sow Seekers Bass Club by a majority vote. Yearly dues will be paid no later than the first tournament fished by that individual. Dues are $15 per season.

• Regular Season Entry Fees: Entry fee is $100 per boat which includes $10 per boat for Big Bass, Club Fund and monthly entry. $30 per entry fee, per tournament, is put into the club fund for expenses and year end tournament. Payback per monthly tournament is $70 per boat to be paid back 1 place per 4 boats. $100 per boat remains the same regardless of number of fisherman in the boat.

• Take Off & Weigh In: It is the responsibility of all members to help with take-off or weigh in as needed. Live well checks will be done on ramp or in water before launch. Weigh ins will include measuring of fish. Weigh in committee will be assigned at the ramp by Tim McKenney or other appointed member. Take off order is determined by time of entry for each tournament. The last boat out each morning will do live well check and boat set off.

• Points: Points are awarded in each monthly tournament as follows: 1st Place – 100 points, 2nd Place – 99 points, etc. Teams not weighing any fish receive 25 show up points per person. In addition to these points, each team receives points for their bag weight. For example, if a team wins the tournament with a bag weight of 12.26 pounds, their total points for that tournament would be 112.26 points. For year end points totals, each team will throw out their lowest tournament point total to their final point total. Dead fish penalty is .2 for each dead fish weighed. Short fish presented at weigh in receive a 1 pound penalty. Members are allowed to measure a fish in advance of weigh in on the club board if they wish.

• Ties: All ties will be broken by 1) Big Bass 2) most fish weighed in.

• Protests: Any protest must be brought to the attention of the weigh in committee no later than the conclusion of that tournaments weigh in.

• Late penalty: Late penalty is 1 pound per minute up to 10 minutes, then disqualification. Lateness is determined by weigh in committee.

• Safety: All boats must be equipped with a working “kill Switch” and all boaters and non boaters are required to wear a coast guard approved life vest any time the boat is on plane. All contestants are required to follow the highest degree of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation. At the discretion of the majority of club members, changes of cancellations may be made to member status or tournament status for safety reasons.

• Lake Rules: All members must adhere to all local, state and federal lake rules.

• Fish Care: Nets are allowed. All boats must have adequate, working live wells to support any fish stored in a live well.

• Tournament limits: All tournaments will have a 5 fish limit unless state or local laws do not allow it. Culling on the water is allowed, but no culling after a boat is trailered.

• Tackle and equipment: Only artificial lures and pork style baits are allowed. Only one rod and reel may be used at any time. If you get hung up, you may set the rod down and use a different rod until you decide to retrieve your lure.

• All members must fish at least 3 regular season tournaments to qualify for the year end tournament. Exceptions may occur if the majority of the club agrees the reason is warranted.

• Year End Entry Fees and Awards: Year End Points Total Champion Team receives $200.00. Year End Heavy Bag receives $50. Year End Heavy Bass receives $50. Entry fee for year-end tournament is as follows: $20 per member plus $15 per member for each tournament missed covers both days. Payback is 1 pay back for each 4 boats entered. $50 per day for Big Bass. The club will withhold approximately $100 each year from club fund to take care of monthly bank fees and any other misc expenses.
